It is motioned to approve. The motion is seconded. Minutes approved. 2—CHAIRMAN & CHAIRMAN ELECT, Crystal Liechty & Jamie Theler The board needs to know we sent out an opinion survey. We got 35 or so responses that give us an idea of where those people stood on the questions we sent out. The committee needs to put a proposal together. Chairman Elect would like to put it on Facebook so we can discuss it between now and the meeting next month. The committee just needs to discuss the responses. There were 35 out of over 200 responses. 3—SECRETARY, Loralee Evans Nothing new to add. 4—FINANCE CHAIR, Cindy Bennett Not present. 5—WHITNEY CHAIR, Taryn Skipper Whitneys are going great. Guild members are members of the voting academy. Are we going to let associate members be voting members of the academy? Right now, we plan that it will just be professional members. Voting would be a perk of the professional tier. 6—MEMBERSHIP CHAIR, Karen Hoover Not present 7—CONFERENCE CHAIR & CO-CHAIR, Wendy Jessen, Jessica Kendall Things are going well on our end. We have only a few spots left. We’ve had some shifts for instructors who have had to bow out because of weddings, etc. Brandon Sanderson’s intensive is almost full. If anyone on the board has a pic with Brandon Sanderson and is willing to share, our PR team is working on some advertising and would love to get as many pics as possible of Storymakers people and Brandon. It doesn't have to be at Storymakers. We need to start coordinating with SMIAH, but that’s not anything pressing. Last month SMIAH needed to figure out where they stood in relation to Storymakers. Chairman sent an email about if SMIAH wants to join with us. She’ll send another email. 8—COMMUNICATIONS CHAIR, Annette Lyon (absent), Jessica Thompson Communications Chair is still doing the monthly word count announcement and sending out monthly requests for new releases. Where is the link for people to sign up for the newsletter? It might be a good thing to have a link for people to put their information on a google form, then we can have the names of members so they can get the newsletter. Many of us need to be added to the list for the newsletter. We should post a link on Facebook just so that the guild on Facebook can get a link to the newsletter if they don’t get it in their emails. 9—SMIAH CONFERENCE CHAIR, Heather Justesen Chairman will email SMIAH Conference Chair. 10—AT LARGE CHAIR, Jerry Borrowman, Jennie Bennett Was Membership Chair going to give the At Large Chair a list of the membership so we can do an audit of the membership periodically? At Large Chair will message Membership Chair on Facebook. Should At Large Chair call the restaurant we plan to go to on Thursday night of the conference and set aside 30 or 40. spots for that evening? Information should be put in the newsletter for the dinner to start at 6:30 Thursday night of the conference. 11—MOTION TO ADJOURN It is motioned to adjourn. It is motioned to adjourn.
