  • NEW Finance policy – SM Finance Policy v. 1
  • Still fine-tuning wording before voting

  • VOTE passed: Amending bylaws (membership section)
    • Copy of Bylaws (2023) – Article III Membership section
• Guild doc storage – Jaime leaning toward Dropbox
  • Official docs, process docs, membership spreadsheet

Chair Elect (Ranee)

• Guild committee – ask for more committee members
• Associate membership logistical issues – Ranee will work with Karen & Tiana
• Start Storymakers U again – wait to remove inactive members until after that’s announced

Secretary (vacant)

Treasurer/Finance (Jessica T)

• Audit plan – date set & members to participate
  • Ranee or Jaime can also attend
• Budget for 2024 – present & finalize next month
• Mailerlite purchase – found needed invoice/receipt 

Membership (Karen)

• Big Membership Spreadsheet, updated 2/26/24
• Protocol when someone’s membership lapses & removing inactive members
  • When memberships lapse, people can reactivate by reaching out to membership and paying their dues
• 9 new membership applicants – Karen will move qualifying applicants to full memberships
• Duplicate professional & associate memberships – not sending over the link to pay either
• Work with Annette for an email campaign and inform inactive members and give a deadline before removing from FB group

Conference (Jessica K & Emily)

• Things are going well – will be sharing the volunteer sign up sheet on the guild FB group
• Registrations just under 600

Whitneys (Taryn)

• Ratify rule clarification – publishing companies only has one academy vote
  • Jessica T. moves to vote, Jessica K seconds – vote passed
• Determine guild terminology and ratify any necessary changes
  • Adjust with new Guild name and professional membership wording – Taryn & Jaime 

Communications (Annette)

SM-KC Conference (Marla)

• Absent – update via email – putting together a class schedule this month and emailing invites to presenters
