Just another boy-meets-girl workplace romance – except Bh’llewy “just-call-me-Bill” -xogh of the Ph’larrenh Empire comes from a planet of supermodels with blue teeth, Sariah Phelps is an LDS returned missionary (Philippines, Tagalog speaking) and former Relief society President working on a post-doc in explosions, and the workplace is an Earther research station on Ceres.
The two of them hit it off immediately, but soon run into a series of dealbreakers, and it’s difficult to say which is more insurmountable: the religious differences or the secret mission involving kidnapping and murder.
When things take an (even more) unexpectedly dark turn, Sariah doesn’t see how she will be able to navigate her faith crisis in her new circumstances – which include, but are not limited to, a new set of coworkers, a microchip brain implant, and Burning Ghosts. As for Bill, even though he knows he has to live with what he has done, can he hope to ever find forgiveness?
