EMILY INOUYE HUEY writes historical fiction for children and teens. She is the author of BENEATH THE WIDE SILK SKY, which won the Golden Kite Award, the Malka Penn Award, and three Whitney Awards. Her picture book, WAT KEPT PLAYING, won an AML award and was selected for the Library of Congress Great Reads from Great Places. She holds an MFA in Creative Writing from Lesley University and teaches at Salt Lake Community College. Besides books, her passions include education, the arts, the outdoors, and her family.
