REBECCA HICKEN has nearly a decade of classroom teaching experience and is in hot pursuit of her MFA in creative writing. While English is her favorite subject to teach, she also has experience teaching science, math, and history. She’s been selected several times to work at the state level on standards alignment projects. And since joining her school’s English department, her grade level team’s students have increased their scores by nearly 20% on state assessments. She runs a Teachers Pay Teachers store called “Novel Unit Express” and is excited to share her passion for learning standards and student engagement with her writing community.
