MENGXI (MARGARET) SEELEY is an immigrant born in China and raised in Utah. She has a BA in international relations from Brigham Young University and an MA in East Asian studies from Stanford University, where she studied history, culture, and languages (Chinese, Korean, and Japanese) to varying degrees of proficiency. A professional academic translator married to a history professor, she enjoys a domestic life brimming with nerdy conversations. Many of Mengxi’s published translations can be found in the journal Chinese Studies in History. She also writes fantasy based on the history and mythology she encounters through her work and heritage.
