SOQUEL BAUMGARDNER (pronounced SOH-kel BAHM-GARRD-ner) is a writer of chick lit, urban fantasy, alternative historical fiction, and fairy tales. She has a degree in psychology, but she has never had to use it in her current career. Her first job was working the night shift at a nuclear power plant, which gave her a taste for the strange and the unusual. Her last job was teaching creative writing to students in grades 6-12 at a private school, which brought her face to face with the strange and unusual. She has lived in 51 different homes, including next door to the famous Oak Alley Plantation and in a Victorian house in the middle of a California broccoli field that was said to be haunted by a ghost in a spacesuit. Again, strange and unusual.
Soquel loves research almost as much as she loves dark chocolate, Dr Pepper cupcakes, and writing. She likes going down rabbit holes and returning with new story ideas, quirky facts, and authentic details that bring realism and originality to her projects and instill a sense of her credibility in her readers. She has written 22 novels, 2 screenplays, and some very bad poetry. Her latest book, KISS AND DWELL, is available now.
